GreenSky Capital Closes GreenSky Accelerator Fund III; Promotes Neil Peet and Valdis Martinsons

January 20, 2020

GreenSky Accelerator Fund III
GreenSky Capital Inc. (“GreenSky”) is very pleased to announce the final close of its third affiliated venture fund, the GreenSky Accelerator Fund III, LP (“The Fund”). The Fund has $8.5 million to be invested in Canadian early-stage technology companies. The Fund’s limited partners are composed of a network of private Canadian and U.S. investors, many of whom are repeat GreenSky partners or were introduced to GreenSky by investors in the two previous funds.

Prior to this final closing, the Fund has made investments in Cyclica (Toronto, ON), Weever Apps (Hamilton), Direct-C (Edmonton), Rank Software (Toronto), and LabsCubed (Kitchener, ON), creating a base portfolio of some of the most promising high-tech companies in Canada. GreenSky anticipates another 12 – 18 months of investment before the Fund is fully deployed.

Early-stage Canadian technology companies interested in working with the Fund are invited to learn more about, and apply to, the Fund at: fundapplication@greenskycapital.com or by visiting the website at https://www.greenskycapital.com/entrepreneurs/#application.

GreenSky Internal Promotions
Finally, GreenSky is excited to announce promotions to two of its core staff members. Neil Peet, who joined the company as an Analyst in 2015 and most recently served as Senior Associate, has been promoted to Principal. “Neil has become as critical to GreenSky as any member of our team” said GreenSky Managing Partner, Greg Stewart. “He leads our investment adjudication process, and is the face of GreenSky for many entrepreneurs in the Canadian ecosystem. This title more accurately reflects Neil’s contributions.”

GreenSky also promoted Valdis Martinsons, from Director of Technology Evaluation, to Partner. Again, Mr. Stewart: “Valdis is one of Canada’s most experienced and capable technology minds.  With his extraordinary experience in building tech teams and rapidly scaling technology across different verticals, Valdis’s presence at GreenSky is one of our unique differentiating factors.”

Michael T. R. List and Mr. Stewart both assumed the title of Managing Partner as part of the re-organization.
